Busy healthcare providers often need an alternative to traditional, classroom-based ACLS training. HeartCode ACLS is the official, self-directed, comprehensive e-learning program from the American Heart Association (AHA). Students complete an interactive, cognitive portion that includes ten realistic patient microsimulation scenarios covering the ACLS algorithms, a team dynamics lesson, and access to AHA textbooks. Once the student has successfully completed their online course they may take their skills test. Skills tests may be completed at West Coast EMT CPR Division's Orange office.

Once the skills test has been successfully completed the student will receive their official AHA ACLS Card. With HeartCode ACLS, students will not only benefit from a convenient online based course, but will also save valuable time. The online course will only work with PC’s and not MAC’s.

This course is designed primarily for healthcare professionals in emergency departments, intensive care units, critical care departments, surgical areas, or pre-hospital environments, such as physicians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, and other professionals who may respond to a cardiovascular emergency. The ACLS Provider course provides the knowledge and skills needed to evaluate and manage the first 10 minutes of an adult ventricular fibrillation/ventricular tachycardia (VF/VT) arrest, symptomatic bradyarrhythmia, tachyarrhythmia, acute coronary syndrome, and acute ischemic stroke. This ACLS provider course is for students with a current ACLS Providers card that hasn't expired.

This course is approximately 6.5 hours

The BLS for Healthcare Providers course teaches the skills of CPR for victims of all ages (including ventilation with a barrier-device, a bag-mask device), use of an AED on adults and children, and relief of FBAO in responsive and nonresponsive victims. Written and skills evaluation are required for course completion. This is a Provider course designed for first-time participants and those who have expired cards.

TEXTBOOK IS REQUIRED FOR THE COURSE, if you do not have a textbook you will be asked to purchase one the day of class.

Healthcare providers often need an alternative to traditional, classroom-based Basic Life Support training. BLS for Healthcare Providers online is a web-based, self-directed course that uses case-based scenarios and interactive lessons to teach students about single-rescuer and team basic life support. This course will teach you to promptly recognize several life threatening emergencies, providing high quality chest compressions, delivering appropriate ventilations and providing early use of an AED (Automated External Defibrillator). After taking this course you will have an understanding of adult, child, and infant CPR, relief of choking, and the proper use of an AED. This course includes an online portion where you will complete an online written test and receive a certificate of completion. Once the student has successfully completed their online course they may take their skills test. Skills tests may be completed at West Coast EMT Anaheim campus.

 

Once the skills test has been successfully completed the student will receive their official AHA BLS for Healthcare Provider card.

After completing the online portion, students attend a structured BLS Hands-On Session with an AHA Instructor. This session focuses on meaningful skills practice, debriefing, team scenarios, discussions of local protocols, and skills testing. Where available, students may also complete the hands-on session with a manikin.

HeartCode BLS is for healthcare professionals seeking an alternative method for completing an initial or renewal BLS Course.

The AHA's Heartsaver CPR AED Course has been updated to reflect new science in the 2015 American Heart Association Guidelines Update for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care. This course is designed to prepare students to provide CPR and use an AED in a safe, timely, and effective manner.

Heartsaver CPR AED Online is the eLearning portion of the Heartsaver CPR AED blended learning course and is designed to teach students the cognitive information needed for CPR and AED training.

Upon successful completion of both portions of the course, students receive a Heartsaver CPR AED course completion card, valid for two years.

The Heartsaver CPR/AED/First Aid online course is backed by comprehensive state-by-state research, and is formatted to allow instructors to customize it to include all topics required. Course modules cover first-aid basics, medical emergencies, injury emergencies, environmental emergencies, and optional topics. This is the course to choose for efficient, effective training of:  education and child-care professionals, recreation and other community program staff , new parents, guardians,construction workers and other caretakers.

Heartsaver First Aid- This course is designed for Teachers, Coaches, Babysitters, Construction workers, and the general public. This online course includes essential information and training in the first-aid skills recommended by OSHA, all in a format that can be delivered in a single day. The course is modular to meet the needs of a specific workplace or group of employees. The core module comprises general principles, medical emergencies and injury emergencies. Your American Heart Association First Aid course completion card will be issued the same day of the course.

Once the student has successfully completed their online course they may take their skills test. Skills tests may be completed at West Coast EMT CPR Division- Orange office. Once the skills test has been successfully completed the student will receive their official AHA PALS Card. With HeartCode PALS, students will not only benefit from a convenient online based course, but will also save valuable time. The online course will only work with PC’s and not MAC’s.

Designed for pediatricians, nurses, paramedics, respiratory therapists, emergency physicians, and other healthcare providers who care for infants and children, the PALS course teaches participants to recognize infants and children at risk for cardiopulmonary arrest, strategies needed to prevent cardiopulmonary arrest in infants and children, and skills needed to resuscitate and stabilize infants and children in respiratory failure, shock, or cardiopulmonary arrest. This PALS provider course is for students with a current PALS Providers card that has not yet expired.
